His Resurrection – Our Resurrection
His Resurrection – Our Resurrection
Hello everyone. Welcome to “Notes From the Presence.” Since it is Easter weekend, I have been pondering what Jesus did for us on the cross. I have also been thinking about what He did for us in the resurrection.
I think the majority of my life has been spent focussing on the cross. The cross is where Jesus took care of things for us. It is where He paved the way back to the garden where we were originally intended to live. At the cross, Jesus left no stone unturned. Think of every effect of sin and the curse. Is it physical, emotional, mental, financial, or relational that you are facing? You name it—Jesus took care of it. He also restored us to a relationship with the Father, gave us an inner and outer covering of the Holy Spirit, and changed the epoch of time from law to grace.
Now, I would like to talk about the resurrection. We spend less time focussing on the resurrection because it is not understood very well. The resurrection is where Jesus pulled us up. It is where He made us brand new. Because His resurrection is our resurrection, we are no longer the person we used to be. We have been seated with Christ in heavenly places, given access to heaven’s kingdom, given a brand new nature (yay!!), made holy, and elevated to a place where we reign both in this life and for eternity.
Because of the resurrection, we no longer have excuses. If the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, then we are fully saturated with life inside and out. Jesus left no stone unturned at the cross, and He also left no stone unturned in His resurrection. The redemption plan that was negotiated for humankind before the foundation of the earth was even laid, was absolutely perfect.
I encourage you today, honor the cross, but live in the resurrection. The kingdom of God is at hand here and now, in all of its fullness—and you have been made brand new!
Ephesians 1:18-21, 2:5-6 (NLT) I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty powerthat raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. And even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
Today’s question – what would Jesus do? Go and do it too. Jesus is risen and so are you!
